Rome - City Tours

5-Hour Private Tour
5-Hour Private Vatican in Depth with areas closed to general pblic

The five hour  tour of highlights of Vatican and parts of Vatican City closed to general public offers the guest the in depth experience of one of the most fascinating destinations in Italy. After arriving at  St Peter's Square you will approach the Swiss Guards to be granted entry to parts of Vatican State closed to the public. This will be a rare opportunity to see Vatican City state "from within".
The Tuetonic cemetery established by Charlamagene more then a thousand years ago is still a Vatican burial ground, nearby Audience Hall sees not only pilgrims but bishops and cardinals heading for their annual meetings.,Vatican clerks rushing in the morning to the offices of the " Fabbrica di San Pietro" the body that runs the most famous church in the word and it activities. The highlight of that part is the visit of world famous Vatican Mosaic Workshop to see the artisans at work restoring the old mosaic and creating the new projects.
Afterwards a short walk along the renaissance Vatican walls will take us to the entrance to Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel. A Cappucino stop may be offered on the way to get more energy.  Our admissions will be pre booked with priority pass to ensure no lines entry. You will be offered an in depth tour of the Vatican collection with all important highlights between ancient and renaissance art.
You guide will gave sharp insights and will be thorough in providing information including many little details that made the tour so rich. This will be the time to ask questions regarding the collection and art in general. There will be extra time for in depth study of the Sistine Chapel, the most important stop on your museum walk.
After a short break your tour will continue in St Peters Basilica. We will be able to access the church skipping log security lines. The visit starts with the Vatican Grottoes with tombs of over 150 popes including the tomb of John Paul II and then with the church itself. many of our guests says that we leave the best for last.
Truly there is nothing like St Peters Basilica with its glorious baroque art !. In depth visit follows and ends at St Peter's Square where tour ends.
After the tour your guide will be happy to advise on lunch options and point to bookshops and souvenir shops where you will be left alone to browse.
